David L. Mayfield
- David has been involved in the design and development
of large land tracts for residential and commercial development
for over 30 years. He has also been actively involved in constructing
numerous buildings within his land development projects, having
designed and built well over 1000 residential units and commercial
spaces in the Carolina and New England markets.
David has professional training in architecture, landscape architecture,
urban design and engineering from NC State University, Harvard University
and MIT. He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and owns two real estate
companies active in the Charlotte area. David's creative design
and development solutions have been recognized in professional publications
including Builder Magazine, The New Urban News, The Charlotte Business
Journal and Charlotte Biz.
David has been a licensed General Contractor since 1984 and is currently
engaged in designing and building some of the most innovative mixed-use
and residential buildings in the Charlotte region. His building
company, Traditional Builders, won a Gold Medal in the Charlotte
Parade of Homes.
In addition to his development practice, David actively consults
on a national level through Mayfield Development and on projects
with The Conservation Fund and D.R. Horne & Company in Washington
DC. His blend of design, real estate and construction expertise
allows him to assist clients in achieving a well-balanced approach
to their development projects.
David is one of the Founders and serves on the Board of Directors
of the National Town Builders Association (NTBA). He is also one
of the Charter Members of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU).
Both organizations are devoted to smart growth principles.
Kelli Stevens - Kelli directs all sales, marketing,
and public relations for Mayfield Development projects and is
in charge of conducting market research and tracking regional
marketing and sales trends for the company's various consulting
assignments. Kelli works closely with all of the affiliated development,
sales, and construction companies. Her undergraduate and graduate
training is from the University of Georgia.
As a licensed real estate broker and the Broker-In-Charge for
the affiliate, Afton Village Land Company, Kelli is responsible
for directing the operations of the residential and commercial
sales force. She is also actively engaged in the commercial leasing
and sales within Afton Village's commercial district. In addition,
Kelli directs the implementation of budgets, covenants, and procedures
of the Afton Village property management team.
Kelli is responsible for all marketing, advertising and PR activities
associated with the Afton Village development. She designs/produces
most of the collateral marketing material in-house for the development
including the Afton Village News, a quarterly publication with
a distribution of over 100,000, as well as the Afton Village website.
Kelli has made numerous development presentations including recent
sales and marketing training for the University of Wisconsin.
She is an active member of National Town Builders Association
and the Congress for the New Urbanism.
